LUNA, Apayao – The Schools Division Office (SDO) Apayao gathered educators and staff at the BGVJr. Memorial Sports Center in Poblacion, Luna, today, October 5, 2023, to join the World Teachers’ Day celebration.
With the theme “Together4Teachers,” the event is part of the National Teachers Month 2023, which aims to recognize and underscore the pivotal role of teachers. “Together4Teachers” reflects the collective acknowledgment of the collaborative effort required to support and empower educators in their noble mission.
The occasion honors their service and dedication in shaping globally-minded citizens, nurturing families, fortifying communities, and contributing significantly to nation-building.
The activity featured various activities, including speeches by education leaders, performances by students, and awards recognizing outstanding teachers for their exemplary contributions.
“The celebration aims to revitalize the image of teachers in the society. May celebration tayong ganito to show that teaching is still the noblest profession,” Dr. Marcel Trumpo said, speaking on behalf of Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Dr. Irene Angway.
Moreover, Luna Mayor Josephine Bangsil, in her message, emphasized the importance of teachers and the crucial role they play in nation-building. “This is one way to express our gratitude to the teachers for their invaluable contribution to the country at isang pagbibigay pugay sa inyong hindi matatawarang dedikasyon para sa ating mga kabataan.
