TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Tabuk, in partnership with Saint Williams Academy (SWA), welcomed Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary Atty. Fatima Lipp Panontongan on January 6.
During her visit, Panontongan announced that SWA is one of the schools in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) participating in the schools preparedness and readiness sessions this year.
The sessions evaluate learners’ ability to apply their knowledge in reading, mathematics, and science to address real-life challenges.
Panontongan emphasized the importance of ensuring that both learners and teachers are well-prepared for the assessment, stressing the need for enhanced student learning abilities to foster competitiveness and urging other schools in the city to focus on improving student outcomes.
Mayor Darwin Estrañero pledged support to SWA, committing to provide the necessary educational materials and equipment through DepEd.
Governor James Edduba’s office also expressed its readiness to assist schools in meeting their educational needs.
City Schools Division Superintendent Benedicta Gamatero assured the schools of the support needed to develop competitive learners across various fields.
The event was attended by several key figures, including SWA Principal Sr. Celestina Bangcoleng, SWA Director Fr. Roman Macaiba Jr., DepEd CAR Assistant Regional Director Ronald Castillo, and Tabuk City OIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Jan Nowel Pena. By Tabuk PIO
