LUNA, Apayao – Simultaneous with the Heart’s Day, Apayao’s “Search for Taer Ken Dayag ti Apayao 2024” is set on February 14.
In a conference held January 10, 2024 at Apayao Eco Tourism and Sports Complex Clubhouse, in Luna, Apayao, a plan for a thrilling showcase of good looks and wit was finalized.
This is the first time that the province will hold its Taer ti Apayao search, which selects the most handsome and talented young man in the area, alongside the search of Dayag ti Apayao for the female counterpart.
The winners shall represent the province in regional and national pageants or competitions.
The historic event aims to boost young people’s confidence in discovering their potentials, including skills, which is an important aspect in promoting the province’s tourism industry.
Provincial Tourism Officer Rebecca T. Mamba during the session has urged local officials and working committees to promote the show by selecting representatives endowed with charm and desirable character from their town.
“We want our young men and women to absorb our vast cultural identity, and promote and preserve their historical significance,” she expressed.
As planned, the event will emphasize the contenders’ various performances through their production numbers, talent component, swimwear, native attires, festival and native outfits.
Meantime, Santa Marcela Mayor Evelyn Martinez and Flora Mayor Rodolfo Juan who were present in the meeting expressed support to the said venture.
Fourteen candidates from the 7 municipalities are expected to be presented in the coming weeks. By Jomela Dela Torre
