BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) through the Cordillera office the National Economic Development Authority is now accepting nominations for Outstanding Volunteers this 2020. This year’s search is for volunteers who have made significant contributions in addressing the challenges brought by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Interested parties may accomplish the nomination form in this link: bit.ly//COVID19VolunteerNomination. The deadline for submissions is November 6.
The Search for Outstanding Volunteers is an annual event of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) which celebrates groups and individuals across the country who have demonstrated the spirit of volunteerism.
The most outstanding volunteers are recognized every December which is Volunteer Month. National awardees from the Cordillera include Engr. Andres Ngao-i in 2016, Dr. Joanne Balderas in 2018, and the La Trinidad Local Government Unit Disaster Risk Reduction and Management volunteers in 2019.
According to PNVSCA this initiative aims to recognize the contributions of individual female and male volunteers to the COVID-19 response, promote the experiences and good practices of these volunteers in responding to a pandemic, and encourage the general public to continue engaging in volunteer work even in non-emergency/disaster situations. These are efforts towards the PNVSCA’s vision of a society where volunteerism is a way of life for everyone.
