TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Solo parents from the 11 barangays of District III gathered today for the self and spiritual enhancement which was organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
According to Social Welfare Officer Conchita Busaiya, the goal of this activity is to instill in the participants a meaningful connection with themselves and the people around them, which leads to positive emotions and a stronger relationship with God.
During the event, Social Welfare Officer Azraa Accad informed 75 solo parents about the key elements of RA 8972 (Solo Parents Welfare Act), particularly the full package of social development and welfare services available to them and their children.
Pastor Rhoda dela Cruz spoke on the topic “All things work together for good,” while the topic “Connect” was discussed by Pastor Irene Batay-an.
Social Welfare Officer Eusebia Edduba, recognizes the sacrifices and hardships that solo parents have in raising their children on their own, and believes that the activity will assist them in dealing with personal concerns while also fostering healthy relationships and teaching them new values.
