BAGUIO CITY – A 60-year old senior citizen was hurt after he was mauled by two individuals at the intersection of Kayang and Chugum Streets here around 9 am Monday.
Senior Superintendent Rolando F. Miranda, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Antonio Flores Reyes Jr., 60, married, residing at No. 169 Purok 15, Irisan, Baguio City while he named the suspects as Roberto Pidlaoan Budiao, 47, residing at No. 12 Brookspoint, Aurora Hill, Baguio City and Salvador Pidlaoan Budiao, 39, and residing at No. 213 Purok 7 Brookspoint, Aurora Hill, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim parked his vehicle along 1st Kayang St. and saw beside his motor vehicle the motorcycle of Robert.
He reportedly called Robert’s attention to be careful in maneuvering his motorcycle so as not to hit his vehicle.
Irked on what he heard, Robert challenged the victim to a fistfight but the latter tried to avoid confrontation and immediately tried to move away from the scene.
While he was manoeuvring his vehicle out of the area, Salvador suddenly appeared from nowhere and hit the victim with a motorcycle helmet and the two suspects aided each other in mauling him until they were pacified by concerned citizens and bystanders.
The suspects were immediately apprehended by responding police operatives and were detained at the Baguio City jail awaiting the filing of appropriate charges against them while the victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment.
