Senior citizens takeover city government

BAGUIO CITY – Some 56 senior citizens will be taking over the key offices of the city government and some regional line agencies on Monday, October 5, 2015 as part of the Senior Citizens Officials for a Day (SCOFAD), one of the major activities lined up for the celebration of Elderly Month this October.

Former councillor and veteran mediaman Narciso Padilla will be sitting as City Mayor in lieu of Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan while Jerry R. Mecos will be taking over the position of Vice Mayor Edison R. Bilog.

Those who will be assuming the positions of councillors are Teresita T. Quero vice Councilor Joel Alangsab; Violeta C. Garcia vice Councilor Betty Lourdes F. Tabanda; Estrella B. Tano vice Leandro B. Yangot, Jr.; Federico Torcuato vice Councilor Elmer Datuin; Loreta B. Umali vice Councilor Peter C. Fianza; Victorio Afalla vice Councilor Roberto C. Ortega; Reynaldo A. Villacarlos vice Councilor Richard A. Cariño; Maria C. Tagudar vice Councilor Elaine D. Sembrano; Lourdes A. Teliaken vice Councilor Isabelo B. Cosalan, Jr.; Federico Patricio V. Paredes vice Councilor Fred L. Bagbagen; Erlinda C. Fuertes vice Councilor Faustino A. Olowan; Cristino C. Sacayanan vice Councilor Lilia G. Yaranon and Norma R. Rimorin vice Councilor Michael L. Lawana.

For the city departments heads, Jaime C. Villanueva will be taking the place of City Accountant Antonio L. Tabin; Albert Madarang vice City Administrator Carlos M. Canilao; Betty C. Sungduan vice City Assessor Nilda B. Navarro; Victoria P. Ramos vice City Auditor Margie D. Bungait; Illuminada R. Fernandez vice City Budget Officer Leticia O. SCOFAD is an institutionalized activity lined up for the celebration of Elderly Month this October and it is geared towards giving opportunity to deserving senior citizens to have a chance to experience holding public office.
