TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The residents of Barangay Dupag availed of a host of free services and assistance from government agencies and offices during the Serbisyo Caravan mounted by the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) with the Tabuk City TF-ELCAC at sitio Mosimos recently.
Free circumcision, veterinary services, dental treatment, medical check-up, haircut, SIM registration, legal consultation were just a few of the services the residents enjoyed during the special event which aimed to bring government services closer to Dupag as part of the ‘Whole-of-Nation’ approach to end insurgency.
Officials hoped that through the Serbisyo Caravan, Dupag residents will feel the presence of the government and show that it cares and is ready to respond to their needs.
“Inyumay mi iti serbisyo ti City Government para kanyayu,” said Henry Gupaal who represented Mayor Darwin Estrañero, said.
“Mark this day because this is the first time in the history of Dupag nga agkaykaysa ti amin nga ahensya ti gobyerno nga umay ditoy. Kayat mi lang nga iparikna kanyayu ti gobyerno tayo,” Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Kalinga Manolo Ballug said.
In his message, Governor James Edduba promised to the people of Dupag a concerted effort from all government offices to solve the socio economic problems that have been the root cause of insurgency in the area. “Pagtitinnulungan tayo tapnu maadressan dagiti problema,” he said.
Aside from Serbisyo Caravan, a community consultation was also facilitated by the DILG-Kalinga regarding the Barangay Development Plan of Dupag for 2023 to 2025.
The activity aims to identify the priority development projects of the barangay and identify the government agencies that can help with funding.
Present during the consultation were Dupag’s barangay officials led by Punong Barangay Adolfo Domini, members of the local Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI), members of farmer organizations, among others.
