BAUANG, La Union – A married couple, an advertising agent and a minor were arrested in a buy bust operation on the afternoon of March 2, 2016 by anti-narcotics agents of PDEA RO1 (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1) at La Union.
In a report submitted to PDEA Director General Undersecretary ARTURO G. CACDAC, Jr. the suspects were identified as 36 year old Mary Jane Lucido and hubby 44 year old Benjamin Lucido Jr. who were outsourcing shabu to 24 year old Carvic Valdellon and partner who is a minor.
PDEA RO1 Regional Director ADRIAN G. ALVARIÑO confirmed the confiscation of 7 sachets of the illegal drug and the buy bust money. Further, investigation also disclosed that the married couple were subjects of a search warrant last March 1, 2016 but have eluded arrest.
The couple and Carvic are temporarily detained at PDEA RO1 Jail Facility while a case of violating sections 5 “Selling of Illegal Drugs”, which is penalized by life imprisonment with a fine of 500,000 to 10M pesos of the comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them. The minor has been assessed and would be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
