BAGUIO CITY – Statistics from the Land Transformation Office (LTO) show that there are now 10.5 million registered motor vehicles all over the country. Their growing number may be attributed to these two-wheeled vehicles being increasingly used as a more practical and convenient mode of transport.
To thank the community of riders for their continued trust and support, Pilipinas Shell hosted the Shell Bike Fair 2018 in the city last July 14, 2018.
Now on its 4th year, the event has become an annual gathering of motorcycle riders, bike enthusiasts, and bike club members in a full day of exciting activities prepared by the organizers.
“The Shell Bike Fair is our way of solidifying our commitment of being a Filipino biker’s reliable partner on the road,” Steve Quila, Pilipinas Shell vice president for commercial lubricants, said.
The first leg of this year’s bike fair was held in the city as Baguio remains one of the most famous biker destinations thanks to its cool climate, awesome sites and bike-friendly roads. The festivities took place at the CAP John Hay Trade and Cultural Center where various bike clubs were recognized for their positive contributions to the community. The participants also enjoyed special offers, booth activities, and riveting performances by Rico Blanco and other local bands, and celebrity guests Drew Arellano, Roxanne Barcelo and Daiana Menezes.
Five lucky attendees each brought home one of the scooters and motorcycles that were raffled off as major prizes: one unit of Honda CBR 150, 2 units of Yamaha Mio 125 and two units of Suzuki Rider G115.
Made possible by Shell Advance motorcycle and scooter oils and Shell V-Power premium fuels, two brands that are reliable companions on the road, Shell Advance allows for a smoother ride by providing complete engine protection, while the improved Shell V-Power was designed to deliver both performance and efficiency. The offerings were born out of Shell’s groundbreaking technology and developing smarter products designed to give riders the protection, power and efficiency they need.
“For over one hundred years, Shell has been there to support the evolving needs of Filipino motorists. We recognize the everyday courage of our bikers and Shell Bike Fair is one of the ways we can celebrate their journeys,” Anthony Lawrence Yam, Pilipinas Shell vice president for retail, added.
As bikers go on their journey facing various challenges, Shell commits to being their dependable road companion, providing products and services that best fit their needs. Shell is a global leader in power and energy and is working to meet the increasing energy demand and supply challenges by delivering smarter products and cleaner energy.
