BANGUED, Abra – Police and military personnel were able to recover the skeletal remains of a 60-year old woman who went missing over the past eight years through the assistance of concerned residents at the remote village of Bacooc, lagangilang here around 5 pm Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the recovered skeletal remains through the assistance of her relatives to be Gana Cadatan Quirido, 60, and a resident of sitio Dacwag, Paganao, Lagangilang, Abra.
It was learned that the victim reportedly went missing since 2007 and that her remains was identified by her relatives through the recovered clothings from where the skeletal remains were discovered by concerned residents in the remote village.
Bartolome said her relatives brought home the skeletal remins in order to give her a descent burial while the cause of her death is still being ascertained for the benefit of giving justice to her untimely demise.
