A total of 4,511 out of 14,816 candidates passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examinations given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) together with the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy last on October 7, 8, 14 & 15, 2017.
In the official results released by PRC last November 2, Saint Louis University (SLU) has the most number of passers while the University of the Cordilleras (UC) obtained the highest passing percentage among CAR colleges and universities.
21 of 45 UC examinees managed to hurdle the exams for a CAR-best 46.67% success rate while 99 of the 255 Louisian takers became new CPAs for a success rate of 38.82%.
University of Baguio (UB) has 13 out of 29 getting a 44.83% success rate. The Mountain Province State Polytechnic State College-Bontoc (MPSPC) garnered a 11.54% success rate with their three new CPAs out of 26 examinees.
The Divine World of Bangued, Abra produced 2 CPAs out of 23 takers for a success rate of 8.70%; King’s College of the Philippines Inc.- Benguet (KCP) has 4 out of 51 (7.84%), Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) has 3 out of 53 (5.66%) while AMA Computer College – Baguio City has all of 11 takers falling short of the cut.
Overall, the University of the Philippines-Diliman, De La Salle Manila, and the University of Santo Tomas round up the top three performing schools for the examination. UP-Diliman was a perfect 69 of 69, De La Salle Manila was 101/109 for a 92.66% success rate while UST tallied 333/362, 91.99% passing rate.
