BAGUIO CITY – SM City Baguio mall admin employees together with the mall agency personnel participated in the nationwide annual Brigada Eskwela. SM City Baguo joined with the theme, “Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan”. About 70 volunteers from the mall have repainted the classroom wall and ceilings, repaired the broken pipelines, ceilings and electric breakers and cleaned up the surroundings of Quezon Hill Elementary School in Baguio City last May 26.
The said activity aims to encourage teachers, students with their parents and the community to be involved in the “Bayanihan Para sa Paaralan (Working Together for the School)”. This also brings us a picture of people from different sectors of society doing repainting of walls and blackboards, cleaning classrooms, repairing fences and school facilities that symbolizes the spirit of volunteerism and camaraderie among them. This is to contribute in improving and ensuring that our school facilities are ready for the school opening in June and to recognize the goodwill of the stakeholders.
In line with the Brigada Eskwela, SM City Baguio management has turned over the replacement of the school building signages and the remaining paint to the school head and teachers. Quezon Hill Elementary School thru its school principal Ms. Ellen Grande is thankful for the assistance that SM City Baguio has extended.
SM City Baguio’s Brigada Eskwela team of volunteers included the Operations, Human Resources, Customer Relations, Accounting, Treasury, Leasing and Marketing Department and its affiliated agencies.
This endeavor aimed to be part of the inspiration to all students of Quezon Hill Elementary School to bring the bayanihan spirit to the community and ensure safety and healthy surroundings conducive to teaching and learning. SM Cares and SM City Baguio joined hands to be part of this year’s Brigada Eskwela to show that SM really cares for the education of the future generation.
