SM Foundation, Inc. has conducted a medical and dental mission, “Gamot para sa Kapwa,” which served around 500 underprivileged families from the different target barangays in Baguio City.
The said community-oriented healthcare event was held last May 31 at the Event Center of SM City Baguio which started accommodating patients from 8a.m. until 12noon.
SM Foundation offered free chest X-ray, ECG, blood sugar screening, blood pressure monitoring, medical consultation, dental services and free medicines to patients in cooperation with the City Health Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development, 911 On Call, Philippine Military Academy, Department of Health, Watsons, Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko Foundation, and the City Government of Baguio.
SM Foundation provides free health services such as medical consultations, basic laboratory tests and dental check-ups to communities through its medical missions. In addition to this, SM Foundation also dispenses proper and complete dosages of medicines to its medical mission patients through its Gamot Para sa Kapwa medicine campaign.
Also for the total healthcare of the beneficiaries, different medical examinations such as fasting blood sugar (FBS), cholesterol, uric acid, ECG and X-ray were offered and conducted upon doctor’s advice.
This is part of the SM Foundation’s commitment to serve by supporting and empowering the host communities, SMFI is looking forward to spearhead more activities that will be beneficial to the people in the society.
The said project is being held by SMFI in different SM mall branches nationwide, which aims to be true to its commitment to serve by empowering and reaching to the host communities and to spearhead more community-oriented activities.
