TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Members of the City Council recently took part in a benchmarking activity led by Novulutions Inc. CEO Michael Gabriel Pascaran at NARRA1 (Digital Edge), the Philippines’ largest, neutral and most energy-efficient data center operational carrier.
The team observed the operation of digital infrastructure and data management and gained an understanding of the practical applications of emerging technologies, such as how they could potentially accelerate city operations, improve public services, and improve data management for better decision-making.
They were joined by Sales Engineer Mark Fel Ambong, who discussed how the data center will help to bridge the digital divide by enabling the Philippines to embrace a new era of world-class digital infrastructure and achieve parity with established cities worldwide. NARRA1 is the Philippines’ most energy-efficient data center and one of Asia’s most contemporary facilities, offering industry-leading colocation services while adhering to environmental standards.
The facility was designed to achieve an annualized PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of <1.2, surpassing the standards set by other colocation operators for similarly sized data centers in the region, despite the area’s year-round heat and humidity. With a strong focus on ESG targets, managing the energy footprint is critical to attaining carbon neutrality goals, increasing efficiency, and lowering customer operational costs. The facility is also on pace to be triple certified, attaining demanding ESG requirements from reputable local and international organizations, including LEED Gold, BERDE, and EDGE certifications.
During the learning activity, council members were given a tour around the cutting-edge facility, which has 2,200 cabinets and 10 MW of T power and is designed to meet the most recent power specifications, reliability, security, and sustainability requirements from cloud, network, digital media, and enterprise customers. They also learned the center is the Philippines’ largest carrier-neutral facility in terms of operational capacity, offering customers a wide selection of network service providers, customizable colocation solutions, integrated platform services, and a dedicated customer support team.
The facility is located in Laguna Technopark, Binan, Laguna, in the Greater Manila area. NARRA1 is close to major central business districts and offers access to critical cable landing stations, bringing much-needed carrier-neutral data center capacity and interconnection agility to the Southeast Asian region.
