BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Mountain Province chaired by Vice Governor Francis O. Tauli held its 90th regular session at the Legislative Session Hall, Bontoc, on May 20, 2024.
During the meeting, SP Office Provincial Government Assistant Department Head Andrew M. Magwilang reported their findings and recommendations on the implementation of the Revised 2018 Revenue Code of Mountain Province.
“Bontoc is the only municipality in the province implementing the provision of the Revised 2018 Revenue Code of Mountain Province on Chapter II, Article A pertaining to the Real Property Tax for MOPRECO,” he reported.
Subsequently, the body agreed to communicate with the other nine municipalities that are non-compliant in observing the revenue code as the SP’s initial action.
Meanwhile, the SP concurred the appointment of former Assistant Provincial General Service Officer Soledad Theresa F. Wanawan to the position of Provincial Government Department Head (Provincial General Services Officer).
Moreover, the letter of the governor requesting the enactment of a resolution authorizing him to enter into a deed of donation with the Office of the President thru Undersecretary Adrian Carlos A. Bersamin, Office of the Executive Secretary for the donated Socio-Civic Projects Fund was granted.
Also, an ordinance formally establishing the provincial plaza as a “public plaza, park and green space” and providing measures for the beautification, enhancement, maintenance, and management of the plaza and park and other green spaces in the province of mountain province was approved in its first reading.
Board Members Ezra Samson A. Gomez, Joshua B. Fronda, Federico E. Onsat, Angel Moises T. Tamang, Johnson D. Bantog II, Ricardo M. Masidong, Jr., Donato L.
