The bible declares supernatural beings in opposite sides
Firstly, the basics. The bible is clear on one thing, there exists supernatural beings in high places, both good and bad forces. This simply means belief in the bible’s contents is a package deal, if one believes in God, belief that a devil also exists is required.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; Psalm 91:11, New International Version
The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, Matthew 13:41, New King James Version
12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12, NKJV
1Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron 1 Timothy 4:1-2, NKJV

Supernatural incidents and presence of spirits induce credibility on other biblical claims
The bible’s supernatural contents that defy scientific reasoning and explanation remain the biggest reason why many could not get themselves to appreciate it and its contents.
If the Bible indeed tells stories that are fiction and fantasy and are only conceived in the mind, then it’s hard to trust it or view it as reliable.
On the other hand, the bible is clear on it’s general message: the main theme of the book is God and Satan are at opposite sides, good versus evil, Satan deceived man to get on his side and out of God’s graces, and God provided different means to get man back to His side of things so he will have everlasting life.
This book depicts of a powerful and loving God who is rebelled upon by another powerful adversary and the devil’s schemes got man be caught in between the tug of war.
It therefore not surprising that there are many supernatural stories in this book. If it is proven that these supernatural occurrences did happen and are still happening today, it is a big blow to belief systems that suggests the bible is just a fairy tale book.
The presence of spirits and supernatural events is the “make or break” part for the bible. If it can be categorically proven that the supernatural realm does not exist, the bible contents and ideas about God, or any other supernatural beings that are subjects of human worship for that matter, are all going down the drain.
However, verification and confirmation of even just one instance of unexplained event can do the exact reverse, eliminate the outright impossibility of existence of the God of the bible.
The supernatural makes the existence of God possible and lends credibility to the bible’s contents
Evidences presented here clearly show science has its limits. There things that science can’t certainly explain.
It is agreed that while the evidences presented here collectively prove there must be undeniable existence of some sort of supernatural presence, they do not directly prove that God is real.
But, at the same time, they put the bible’s supernatural stories and God “on base”, speaking on baseball terminology.
They remove the probability of God being non-existent. The presence of the spiritual realm will strongly suggest the likelihood that the bible has a strong basis when it claims there is a God who exists.
That said, it also lends credibility to the other contents of the bible.
Here is a sample of a supernatural incident as confirmed by witness/es:
Roman Catholic Eucharist bread miracles
Emphasized again here is the true issue at hand. This is not about any religious group, it is about the existence of supernatural.
It so happened the Roman Catholic church recorded several instances when the bread they used to commemorate Jesus’ Last Supper turned into flesh-like material or bled with real blood.
At least three of them were subjected to scientific examination and the results validated the change and bleeding.
As expected, questions and doubts on the switching and tampering of the involved materials but the Catholic Church confirmed three instances as investigated and authentic: (1) Lanciano, Italy in the 8th century; (2) Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1996; and (3) Tixtla, Mexico.
The questions of tampering and switching of evidences are thrown out of the window when scientists found out the flesh and blood-like material were still fresh upon examination years later. This is certainly very difficult to fake as one has to replace each item regularly to look exactly the same as the first one to disguise the process of decaying.

Up to date, there just too many instances of paranormal incidents that have yet to be counter-proven as to their existence or actual occurrence, as evidenced by numerous reports and documented cases of manifestations of the spiritual world. These prove without a shadow of a doubt that beings and events that could not be explained by nature and science indeed exists.
It is admitted that many of these are difficult to prove as experienced at a personal level and not normally occurring during the gathering of a large crowd. Besides, those who experience them are afraid to come out because of the possible embarrassment or backlash they could receive.
However, the spiritual realm’s popularity in several cultures and traditions around the world and the sheer volume of recorded and reported incidence are more than enough to cast doubt to outright deny of their existence.
Just consider various manifestations of these beings and incidents through the volumes of reports and videos of unexplained “miracles”, paranormal incidents, haunted house incidents, magicians, human beings possessed, exorcisms, exorcists, witchcraft, sorcery, voodoo practitioners, and the like.
They also supposedly have happened in different eras and timelines.
Here are just some generic incidents in the Philippine and international front during recent history: (1) The eerie sightings and noises in places like Balete Drive and the Ozone Disco spot in Quezon City and Fort Santiago in Manila; (2) reports of cases of multiple school children being possessed by spiritual beings during school hours in the Philippines. Not to be discounted are the supposed aswang, white lady, tikbalang and kapre (some Filipino terms for supernatural beings) sightings; (3) Magicians from different parts of the world have exhibited some performances and acts that are not just slight of hand and could not be explained by nature or science. Examples are the appearance of cards or cds in seconds from thin air; disappearing in one location then reappearing in another in just seconds, communicating with spirits or souls of dead people with an immediate answer, stopping a bullet with teeth, vomiting and swallowing of live creatures; multiple changing of face masks and costumes in split seconds, and levitation among others. Many of them are televised live and replays can be easily viewed from different social media platforms; and (4) Numerous photos taken in eras when faking a photo is quite difficult that show a dead person among the captured image
On the other hand, many devoted church goers have experienced, seen, or heard of instances of instant healing, “casting out of demons”, and other similar supernatural incidents reported in the bible.
True, many reported cases and acts might just be due to just deception, illusion, fakery, or simply just performing an innocent superstition ritual but there is no doubt that not everyone of them are.
Vaticancatholic.com, a traditional Catholic Benedictine Monastery, presented magicians using the spiritual realm to aid them in performance of their acts. Among them are David Copperfield, arguably the most famous magician of all-time, and Mike Super, a performer in America’s Got Talent, who both claimed spirits are behind the outcome of the most difficult tricks ever performed on stage.
In addition to these direct cases of manifestations, there are also the indirect evidences that this realm indeed exists.
Almost all humans had personally encountered manifestations of the supernatural through dreams, nightmares, mediation, curiosity, and imaginations.
Isn’t it ironic that six of the top ten highest grossing films all-time as of 2019 when adjusted for inflation have characters and settings that are not normal? Imagine the number of people that enjoyed Avatar, Star Wars, Avengers: Endgame, E.T., The Ten Commandments, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Collectively, these would confirm the existence of the supernatural.

Baguio City is third most haunted city in the world; Cordillera has some supernatural-based culture and rituals
How about starting this topic at home. Anyone reading this who didn’t set foot in Baguio City, Philippines just try searching for paranormal experiences and sightings here, specifically at Loakan Road, Laperal White House, Teacher’s Camp, Baguio Convention Center, Diplomat Hotel, former Hyatt Terraces Hotel site, Nevada Square and some dormitories.
If one asks a true-blue Baguio resident, they have lots of unexplainable tales occurring in these sites to narrate, some of them even experienced first-hand. No wonder Baguio is tagged as the third most haunted city by National Geographic.
The Cordillerans are also known to carry and practice culture and ritual exercises that involve the supernatural. There are too many cases of pig and chicken butchering according to Cordillera culture as a result of some dead relative “manifesting” their presence or a message to a living relative relayed via speaking through medium, a dream, or an incident.
These rituals could also involve “cleansing” from unwanted spirits, “blessing” for good luck, and healing from diseases, among others.
The Latoya Ammons and Haunted Indiana house case
The Latoya Ammons claim of demon possession and sighting and their haunted house case is one of the best documented cases of supernatural presence in history.
Ammons, a mother of three and one-time resident of Gary, Indiana, USA, claimed that she and her three children had been possessed by demons and saw some of them inside their home at said location after moving there in 2011.
Part of her claims were: (1) Big black flies suddenly swarmed their screened-in porch in December, despite the winter chill; (2) hearing footsteps climbing the basement stairs and the creak of the door opening between the basement and kitchen when no one was there; (3) her children chanting satanic tunes; (4) seeing a shadow of a man and finding it leaving large, wet bootprints; (5) her then 12-year old daughter levitating above the bed, unconscious which was witnessed by a group of friends mourning the death of a loved one;
(6) demons possessed her and her children, then ages 7, 9 and 12 with the kids’ eyes bulged, evil smiles crossed their faces, and their voices deepened every time it happened; and (7) the 7-year-old flying out of the bathroom as if he’d been thrown, and a headboard smacking into the daughter, causing a wound that needed stitches;
The best thing Ammons did was to properly report these incidents to local authorities. Rightfully, the skeptical police department, medical sector, social welfare sector, and religious stepped in to investigate and the home became the center of a multi-agency investigation on demonic activity. What they found will surprise and baffle an unbeliever. Here are some of them:
The police captured in the basement of the house an audio clip that featured someone or something blurting a rasp ‘hey’. Photos they captured show shadowy beings or objects. Their equipment suffered multi-malfunctions even if they are in good working condition.
Police reports also indicated finding oil-like substance dripping from venetian blinds in a bedroom but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from.
A nurse and a Department of Child Services worker filed a written report they saw one of her sons ‘glided’ backwards up a wall and ceiling and flipped for over. Her sons were taken to the hospital because one them was lifted and thrown into the wall with nobody touching him.
Another Department of Child Services worker suffered a ‘frozen’ finger when she touched a mystery ooze that was dripping in house. She later complained she felt as if she was having a panic attack and couldn’t breathe.
Said DCS worker later said she had a string of medical problems after visiting the home. A week after she visited the house for the last time, she got third-degree burns from a motorcycle. Within 30 days, she also broke three ribs Jet Skiing, broke a hand when she hit a table, then broke an ankle running in flip-flops.
Catholic priest Father Michael Maginot, who carried out exorcisms on Ammons and their house, convinced the catholic church to consider the incident demonic in nature and performed exorcism to battle with said demons.
Ammons initially lost custody of her children but recovered it after the investigation was completed.
The Indy Star covered extensively the incident which events are detailed in nearly 800 pages of official records.
The Miracle of the Sun
This incident happened on October 13, 1917 that was seen and experienced by a crowd of estimated between 30,000 to 100,000 while standing in the Cova da Iria fields near Fatima, Portugal.
According to many witnesses, after a period of rain and as soon as the dark clouds broke, the sun appeared as a spinning disc in the sky. It was said to be significantly duller than normal, and cast multicolored lights across the landscape and the surrounding clouds. The sun was then reported to have careened towards the Earth before zig-zagging back to its normal position.
Witnesses reported that their previously wet clothes became “suddenly and completely dry, as well as the wet and muddy ground that had been previously soaked because of the rain that had been falling”.
Not all witnesses reported seeing the Sun “dance”. Some people only saw the radiant colors, and others, including some believers, saw nothing at all.
The incident was attributed to Our Lady of Fatima, an apparition of the Virgin Mary which had appeared to three young children, Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto, on three different occasions supposedly telling them to watch out for a miracle on that specific day in October.
This phenomenon was officially accepted as a miracle by the Roman Catholic church on 13th of October, 1930.
The Ethan Stacy story: Vanishing leukemia miracle
Here’s the tale of a medical miracle from CBN:
Ethan Stacy was born with leukemia. He was diagnosed with AML, an aggressive type of leukemia that forced him frequented the oncology unit at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
Doctors could not do anything in his case. Chemotherapy is so toxic for newborns that doctors gave Ethan’s parents the option not to treat their son.
After two weeks in the hospital, Ethan’s parents Chad and Mandy made the painful decision to take their son home. Most doctors at Vanderbilt supported that decision.
After only a few days at home, Ethan’s baby acne, which is common in newborns, had become infected. So they went back to the hospital. That’s when the tumors began to show up, popping up in other places such as Ethan’s feet, hands, and his forearm.
Ethan was about three weeks old at this point and his condition really started to decline. He stopped eating and began to experience sleep apnea.
It came to a point that the boy was within days of death. His parents took the long painful walk through the cemetery to see the place where they would bury their son. Chad and Mandy knew they were near the end but they, their friends and church members continued to pray…. believing God for the impossible
The night that Ethan faced his greatest medical crisis, an unexplainable thing happened: his Mom feed him late that night and he took his bottle a little bit at a time.
Then he just gradually got better. And over the next week, he is back consuming six ounces of formula every three hours.
Over the next two weeks therafter, Ethan improved! A visit to Vanderbilt revealed his platelets level reached 415,000, in normal range, from 39,000 lowest point. Two bone marrow tests that followed also showed no evidence of leukemia.
Dr. Melissa Rhodes, who serves at Vanderbilt, and her colleagues were stunned by the recovery. “Ethan had gotten about as sick as a baby could possibly get and then spontaneously got better. It was just remarkable to witness it”, she said.
Ethan’s father attributed his recovery to prayers and their belief in God.

There are real witches
Witchcraft and sorcery are one of the superstitious things mentioned by the bible.
10There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. Deuteronomy 18:10-11, NKJV
9Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great, 10and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, “This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.” 11They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery.
12But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13Simon himself believed and was baptized. The existence of witches until this generation are undeniable as evidenced by this documentary piece uploaded by VICE Life on youtube on October 31, 2016.
The documentary was done in Romania, known as the homeland of Dracula and superstition, home to hundreds of witches. Witchcraft here is not only alive, it’s thriving, and it’s even feared by politicians.
They are said to be able to make and break marriages, cure diseases, cast or release people from good and evil spells, and predict the future, among others.
VICE Life claimed that, supposedly, one in ten Romanians visits a witch.
What is striking in this documentary was the fact that there was a move of Romania to put taxes for the practice of witchcraft while witches came out to protest the move. Eventually, the proposed law did not prosper at that time because some of the legislators were afraid they might be harmed by the witches’ spells.
In the same documentary, one of the witches claimed she can use her powers for good and likewise for harm, like when a client fails to pay the witch for her services.
The debate here is not whether they are of God or not. The issue is they are real as the bible suggest and they got powers that are supernatural and cannot be explained by science.
University of Virginia’s 50-year research on Life After Death
Here’s is a case where science tried proving the supernatural and came up with fair and resounding results that point to the real possibility of the existence of supernatural events and beings.
On February 22, 2017, staff of the Division of Perceptual Studies, University of Virginia (UVA) presented some results of their research on life after death.
The presentation was centered on two aspects: Children who claim to have memories of past life, and near-death experiences. The results definitely tell paranormal tales:
(1) Children who claim to have memories of past lives
Some 2,500 cases of very young children were studied. The children were able to: described the lives of their previous person, how the previous person died, show emotional or behavioral features that are connected with their past lives, and some have birth marks or defects that are connected with their past lives.
(2) Persons who underwent near-death experiences
Experiences by these group includes encounters with what seems to be a loving, warm being of light, seeing colors never seen on earth, hearing sounds they never heard before, having sense of leaving the body, being in an otherworldly, unearthly, or mystical realm, encountering mystical being or presence, seeing deceased or religious spirits, and coming to a point of no return beyond which coming back is impossible.
The study on near-death experiences includes a process that concluded the subjects’ memory were reliable in recalling the details and the consistency of remembering and separating real and imaginary events.
The presentation ended in a question and answer portion that validates the researchers’ willingness and readiness to put their findings to public scrutiny.
The vampire defense kit
Here’s an interesting one, we laugh at this today but it is proof that sometime in the past, people believe that supernatural beings called vampires roam parts of the earth. It is debatable whether they truly existed; this item, however, points to the real possibility that they might have in some form:
The bible doesn’t say directly about vampires but it also say something specific about vampire characteristics:
There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, And whose fangs are like knives, To devour the poor from off the earth, And the needy from among men. Proverbs 30:14, NKJV
10‘And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ Leviticus 17:10-11
The Raffy Tulfo in Action incident
One of the most recent unexplainable incidents reported by Philippine media was an unusual paranormal event captured by the cameras of popular Raffy Tulfo in Action program in one of their episodes followed by a series of paranormal experiences by Tulfo himself at his home, which the TV personality featured in September 2020 in their program.
In one of the episodes of the program, a shadowy figure was caught by the camera behind the program’s co-host Sharee Roman and the belt bag moved by itself during a ritual conducted by a paranormal expert.
Meanwhile Tulfo had experienced out of the normal occurrences, his TV powering itself without human intervention in two separate instances and the shower spraying water and shutting itself again without human intervention after the airing of the said episode.
Tulfo went on to explain that for somebody to view a movie on his TV, the person has to undergo four steps before a movie selection will be seen on screen. He said the second instance the TV came on is already at the stage where a horror movie is ready for selection.
He also confirmed that the remote control of his TV was far from reach and the “timer” option of his TV is set to off, meaning the TV will no automatically power itself on at a given schedule, a feature that could explain such phenomena.
He also narrated that on the same night the second time his TV went on by itself, he heard the shower going on and sprayed water on a rubber mat. When he attempted to turn if off, the water drip came to sudden, complete stop, contrary to the usual gradual decreasing manner when the faucet is turned off.
Charlie Goldsmith: The energy healer
Charlie Goldsmith is an Australian from Melbourne who allegedly uses some sort of energy to heal the sick. His methods does not conform to any known medical procedure and science and medicine has yet to come up with an explanation why some of his patients get well.
According to aussiecelebs.com, he can cure people experiencing body twinge, contagious virus, chronic injuries, allergies and autoimmune conditions. He has a success rate of around 76%-79%.
Goldsmith doesn’t charge his patients with bills and said he is happy to help others.
7news Spotlight conducted an investigative journalism on him and put his abilities to the test. Some of the patient subjects did get well and the procedure was witnessed by some of their personal physicians and specialists, who could not find a cure them.
Unidentified Aerial Phenomena
The United States Department of Defense on April, 2020, confirmed three instances that indicate the presence of Unidentified Flying Objects recorded by their military in 2004 and 2015. They still refer to them as “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena”
Judge for yourself if these unidentified flying object have supernatural characteristics:
Epilogue: The bible is in harmony with continuous manifestations of supernatural events
In conclusion, the presence of events such as those depicted above doesn’t necessarily mean they are caused by the bible God and devil.
But then, something mentioned from the bible really backs that they are which no other authority can refute.
43“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” Matthew 12:43-45, NKJV
This also one of the objectives of the Holy Spirit, reside in a human body as temple:
19Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NIV
Further, believers had been promised the ability to do these signs and wonders if they possess the Holy Spirit;
1Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 8To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, NIV
The bible guarantees demons could manifest themselves going through “dry places” and both the Holy Spirit and demons could manifest themselves in some manner whenever they will make a human body their home.
Since they are supernatural beings, some of the ways they would manifest themselves are going to be supernatural in nature, creating unexplainable events from time to time.
There’s a saying the greatest trick the devil did was to convince man he doesn’t exist.
The saying is both true and false to some extent. True because he can fool humans better if he works in the sidelines. False because he has to manifest himself and his demons for them to attain one of their objectives, just hanging around until finding a human home.
Purpose of the bible
The bible made clear what kind of book is it. It is intended for those who want eternal life. It is not a medical, science, logic or history book. Many tend to forget this.
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. John 5:39-40, New King James Version
It also made its theme clear. While there are many tales narrated by the bible, one thing remains clear from start to finish: Humans caught in a crossfire between powerful adversaries and one of them, a loving God, is offering redemption/salvation.
The bible says the devil rebelled and continues to rebel against God and dragged humans along to be involved in this godly battle he started.

…she [Eve] took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband [Adam] with her, and he ate… And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” So the Lord God said to the serpent…I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed…. Genesis 3: 6, 14-15, NKJV
12Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Luke 8:12, NIV
God’s love and the danger posed prompted Jesus to come to earth and provided everyone a way to get out of the mess.
16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16, NKJV
8He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8, NKJV
These verses encapsulates what the new testament is for. If you are encourage by these verses, you are invited to search the bible deeper and find out more about Jesus and his teachings.
Conservative approach
The presence of spirits and unexplainable events and multiple scientific, medical, and logical reasons that supports the bible and its authors’ credibility project a possibility that God do exists. If you are still unconvinced of the existence of God despite these proofs, being conservative might be the best alternative here.
Accountants describe conservatism as selecting the option that would show the worst possible financial standing of a business entity when two or more unproven alternatives are available.
