CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur – Social Security System (SSS) appeals to delinquent employers from Candon City and Santiago to settle their contribution delinquency and avail of the Pandemic Relief and Restructuring Programs (PRRPs).
The announcement came after the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign held last May 18 where SSS Candon branch issued written orders to seven employers due to non-remittance of contributions with total contribution delinquency and penalty of P12.5 million, affecting 380 employees.
“Failure to remit the employees’ SS contribution is an employer’s negligence on their legal obligation of providing social security benefits to their workers in times of contingencies such as sickness, maternity, disability, unemployment, retirement, and death. Through this campaign, we are giving these delinquent employers a chance to settle their financial obligations for the benefit of their employees,” SSS Vice President for Luzon North 1 Division Cesar P. Saludo said.
PRRP 2 or the Condonation of Penalties on Social Security Contributions offers condonation of penalties for past-due social security contributions as of March 2020 thru one-time payment or installment term up to 24 months. Application of PRRP 2 will end on May 19, 2022.
PRRP 3 offers Enhanced Installment Payment Program with flexible payment terms ranging from nine to sixty months depending on the total amount of obligation. The program will run until November 22, 2022.
The complete details of PRRP 2 and 3 can be accessed at https://bit.ly/3KEuvGA, and https://bit.ly/3KAdXiX, respectively.
Employers who received the written order were given 15 days to report to SSS Candon and settle past-due contributions. Otherwise, SSS will be compelled to take legal actions against them.
“We enjoin all delinquent employers to avail of these programs as these were created to provide payment options which are convenient for them. Please remember that you owe to your employees the success of your businesses and remitting their monthly premiums is a simple way of paying forward,” Saludo said.
Saludo urged members to create their own My.SSS accounts so that they can verify their SSS contribution, benefit, and loan application status. In case of irregularities, affected members are advised to report it to the nearest SSS branch.
The SSS resumed the nationwide implementation of RACE Campaign in 2022 to offer relief programs afforded to pandemic-hit employers and intensify employer compliance through increased coverage and collection.
