TABUK CITY, Kalinga – St. William’s Cathedral, under the leadership of Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Melture Pasado, celebrated the Solemnity of St. William the Hermit, its titular patron, on February 10, 2025.
City Information Officer Aurora Amilig, representing Mayor Darwin Estrañero, graced the event and delivered the mayor’s message of support.
“I want to assure you that the city government stands firmly with you in your mission. We are committed to supporting your endeavors in every way possible,” the information officer said.
“Together, we can create a ripple effect of hope and transformation in our beloved Kalinga and Tabuk,” she added.
St. William of Malavalle, known for his gifts of prophecy and miracles, lived as a hermit and dedicated his life to prayer, silence, fasting, and penance until his death on February 10, 1157, and was canonized by Pope Innocent III in 1202.
Rev. Fr. Sean Mejia, JCL was also in attendance to commemorate the saint’s life and legacy.
SWC Youth Ministry, Apostleship of Prayer, Catholic Women’s League, Couples for Christ, and Holy Name Society, among others, were also present at the event. By Rio Bassong
