Any threat of a power outage during the May 2025 elections is a threat to the credibility of the entire electoral process. I urge the Commission on Elections and the Department of Energy to coordinate tightly with the NGCP, power generators, distribution utilities, and electric cooperatives to guarantee uninterrupted and stable power from election day through the canvassing period.
With our automated voting and transmission system dependent on electricity, even a brief outage could delay voting, disrupt canvassing, and cast doubt on results. We must protect the sanctity of the ballots at all costs. Walang dapat magduda sa resulta. Walang puwang ang pandaraya sa halalan. The government must keep the lights on — and clean and honest elections fully alive.
