BONTOC, Mountain Province – The province, through the Steering Committee. has decided not to still hold the Lang-ay Festival this year due to the lingering pandemic.
But the MP Foundation day will be commemorated on April 7, 2022. It would be the 55th Foundation Day of the province.
According to Atty. Michael Patting who presided over the meeting of the committee, a simple but meaningful program will be conducted to celebrate the occasion. The usual activities will be conducted.
The wreath laying and candle lighting at the Governors’ Memorial Monument in the left corner of the provincial plaza beside the venue of the program will be undertaken before the conduct of the Thanksgiving Mass.
In the program proper, Vice Governor Francis Tauli will give the opening remarks to be followed by a talk of Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan, Jr. Congressman Maximo Dalog Jr. will also give a message.
Intermission numbers will be conducted by the PNP Mountain Province Police Office and the MPSPC Minstrel.
The Provincial Historical Committee of the province will sponsor the launching of the governors’ portraits and mural project.
The governors since 1967 will be featured in portraits to be placed at the lobby of the provincial capitol once the annex building will be finished.
The mural project will involve the construction anywhere at the provincial plaza that depicts the working governor and congressman, the minutes of the meeting stated.
Atty. Michael Patting said that the event is “a simple but meaning commemoration of the Foundation day of the province.”
