July 1, 2024. Sablan bags gold in the first Governor Melchor D. Diclas Volleyball Cup against Kapangan, brought home fifty thousand pesos cash prize and fifty thousand pesos for their chosen beneficiary.
Finals Series being tied by the municipality of Kapangan after winning game 2 and forcing Game three, 1-1; Sablan marches to Game 3 with the no-lost record broken, 14-1.
Fueled by the thundering cheers of the Sablanians, Sablan Team outshines Kapangan in three sets with their well-placed and vigorous spikes. Veteran spiker Maricar Pilay led the charge for the team’s triumph leading her to snatch the Finals MVP award.
