The owner of the Igorot Stone Kingdom established the Igorot Stone Kingdom Charity Foundation as part of its corporate social responsibility by assisting indigents and sharing the blessings of the famous tourist destination.
Igorot Stone Kingdom founder Engr. Pio Velasco said that the foundation had been existing for more than a year now and it had extended various assistance to indigent residents of the Cordillera who had been evaluated and assessed to be in dire need of help to allow them to cope with the difficulties of life.
He reported that the management is setting aside some 5 percent of its proceeds to sustain the programs, projects and activities of the foundation and even if these are not that grand, those who had been assisted have been maximizing the use of the aid for their families.
The Igorot Stone Kingdom founder pointed out that the continuous operation of the tourist destination will surely help in generating resources which will be plowed back to the community through the various programs, projects and activities of the foundation since one of the major objectives of the business is to share to indigents the blessings of its robust operations through the years.
According to him, what matters to the foundation is it is able to extend assistance to those who are really in need and whatever assistance will do the recipients the needed favor.
Velasco disclosed that the foundation had been receiving numerous requests for assistance from indigent residents coming from the different parts of the region but the unexpected closure of the tourist destination over the past 5 months had significantly impacted the assistance they can provide.
With the resumption of operations of the Igorot Stone Kingdom by virtue of a special permit from the city government, he expressed hope that the influx of visitors will definitely help in generating additional resources for the charity work of the foundation
He explained that those seeking assistance from the foundation are assessed and evaluated to ensure that those seeking help are qualified to be recipients.
The Igorot Stone Kingdom started operations in 2021 prior to being fully operational by the middle of last year where residents and visitors alike enjoyed the established stone walls and mini castles which were built as part of the attractions in the said area.
