SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union July 10 – A total of P143million worth of infrastructure projects in La Union were destroyed by tropical storm Egay in La Union based on record by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC).
Based on report submitted by the La Union provincial engineering office to RDRRMC, a total of P106.7 million on various infrastructure projects and farm to market roads were destroyed, P32.6 million on roads and bridges, and P3.7 million on provincial buildings.
RDRRMC reported that most of the damages are caused by floods and soil erosion.
Meanwhile, a total of P5.774 million worth of agricultural crops and livestock were destroyed by the storm in La Union.
Damaged rice plants is worth P1.42 million and P223,000 worth of corn were destroyed while the destruction in high value crops is about P1.03 million and P3.09 million in livestock.
