BONTOC, Mountain Province – Students from various educational institutions participated in a guided circuit tour of the central business district, organized by the Office of the Municipal Mayor – Tourism Unit on February 17, 2025.
The tour included Grade 12 students from All Saints Mission School Incorporated, who are enrolled in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand, as well as Grade 12 students from Mountain Province General Comprehensive High School studying Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM). Additionally, students from the Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism Department of Mountain Province State University, who are currently undergoing on-the-job training with the Bontoc Local Government Unit, also took part in the experience.
The tour showcased several significant tourist destinations, historical landmarks, and cultural properties in Bontoc’s central business district. Highlights of the tour included:
𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐜 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐥: The seat of local government, showcasing the administrative heart of the municipality; 𝐊𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐠 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬: A stunning example of traditional agricultural practices and a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage; 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐨: A notable landmark that reflects the local culture and history; 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧: A space dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and cultural significance of the area; 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐜 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐜 𝐈𝐥𝐢 𝐀𝐭𝐨):Sites that represent the indigenous culture and traditions of the Bontoc people; 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐜 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦: A repository of local history and culture, offering insights into the region’s past; 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐥: The administrative center for the province, highlighting governance and public service; 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚: A public space for community gatherings and events; and 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐜 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭: A vibrant hub for local commerce, showcasing the town’s agricultural products and crafts.
This initiative is incorporated under the Tourism Development Plan which is part of the Marketing and Promotions Program of the Bontoc Local Government Unit, aimed at enhancing awareness and appreciation of the local culture and tourism potential.
