One of the toughest running courses in the country is coming up to the City of Pines. The Pinoy Fitness Sub 1 10K challenge is up for staging in Baguio City on July 19, 2015 and will have a gun start at Lake Drive at 5 in the morning.
“It is expected that elite runners from Baguio and adjoining provinces will take part and see for themselves who will be reigned as the king and queen of the mountain.” Philip Pacle, the race director, said. “Cesar Castaneto, Erinio Raquin, Aldrin Seno, Robert Arellano, Jeffrey Aligan, Joseph Samera, Enrico Arceo, Arnold Galad, Cudli Castro are among those expected to provide the challenge in the men’s division while Christabel Martes, Marygrace Moralez, Cherry Doronilla, Lany Cardona, Librada Tamson will be the favorites for the distaff side.”, he continued.
The 10K category race route will start at Lake Drive going to Baguio City High then left going to UP Drive, right going to Nevada Circle and then to South Drive up to Pacdal Circle and right to Albergo Hotel straight to Little Flower Retreat House and back using the same route going to Finish Line at Lake Drive.
There will be two waves. The SUB1 wave is for the elite. There is no cut off time for this category but runners must cross the finish line in 59 minutes to be eligible for the finisher’s medal. The other is the Fun Wave where runners may run the course in their leisurely pace. Participants will get Finisher’s T-shirt.
This event is organized by Pinoy Fitness Jeff Lo and powered by Pep Squad Marj Dayrit while the race directorship will be handled by Renderfarm Sports.
Registration started last June 15 at Toby’s, SM City Baguio from 10am to 6pm. A P750 registration fee is collected for the SUB 1 category which will include race bib, singlet, finisher shirt and eligibility for PF SUB1 medal. The Fun Wave category cost a runner P650 which will include the race bib, singlet and finisher shirt. Registration is until June 30 only and onsite registration is not available to interested runners.
