LA TRINIDAD, Benguet September 06 – The Police Regional Office Cordillera awarded five personnel of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) in recognition of their operational accomplishment during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at PROCOR Multi-Purpose Gymnasium here recently
“Medalya ng Kadakilaan” or PNP Heroism Medal were awarded to PLTCol Dinulong Tombali, PLT Ruben Balanoy, PLT Reygualdo Martinez, PSSG Daniel Andomang, and PCpl Percival Bagyon of theTabuk CPS for their successful conduct of checkpoint operations that resulted in the arrest of a High-Value Drug Personality in Kalinga.
It can be recalled that on September 2, 2022, personnel of the Kalinga PPO successfully intercepted a white van for transporting 126 marijuana bricks and 4 pieces of tubular form dried marijuana weighing 118, 270.80 grams with a Standard Drug Price of P14,192,296.00.
The said recognition was given to the police personnel for their alertness and resilience in responding to the call for police assistance to apprehend a fleeing marijuana courier who was headed to the city proper after eluding a n established police checkpoint in Lubuagan town.
Earlier reports showed that a marijuana courier who was on aboard a white van was about to transport nearly P15 million worth of marijuana from Tinglayan town to a still undisclosed detitanation passing through the various municipalities and the city.
Tombali immediately ordered the establishment of a police checkpoint in barangay Dupag that caused the immediate arrest of the marijuana cultivator and the confiscation of the over P15 million wroth of illegal drugs which were loaded in the said white van.
