LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Local residents and visitors will have the chance to partake of the province’s camote products and free flowing Arabica coffee during the highlights of the 115th fouding anniversary of Benguet and the conduct of the traditional Adivay Festival on November 23-24 at the agro-industrial trade fair area within the Wangal Sports Complex here.
Lolita Bentres, Benguet provincial agriculturist, said the free flowing coffee and camote for the public will be distributed during specific time schedules that is why those who are interested to have a sip of the aromatic Arabica coffee and taste the camote produce should be within the vicinity of the Wangal Sports Complex.
She revealed that the free camote and coffee will be available to the public from 10 am to 11:30 am and 3 pm to 4 pm on November 23 and 13.
“The public will have to pay in case they want to drink coffee and eat camote outside the prescribed dates and times. WE want more visitors to be able to appreciate our agricultural products in order to enhance the market for such produce,” Bentres stressed.
All roads will be leading to the Wangal Sports Complex on Monday, November 23 because it is the highlight of the 115th founding anniversary of Benguet and the conduct of the traditional cañao for the anual Adivay Festival.
According to her, dozens of native pigs will be butchered and served to the local residents and visitors who will be joining the province’s officialdom in the said celebration.
The provincial agriculturist pointed out the offering of free coffee and camote to the public is part of the efforts of the local government to aggressively market local agricultural products that should be patronized in order to help improve the market of coffee growers.
She appealed to the public to patronize the said activity and the on-going agro-industrial, farm landscape and tourism fair for them to appreciate the quality of the products being produced by the thousands of farmers in the different municipalities who have embraced the production of agricultural crops as the major source of their income through the years.
The week-long agro-industrial, farm landscape and tourism fair is one of the major highlights of this year’s 115rh founding anniversary of Benguet and the conduct of the traditional Adivay Festival.
