DOLORES, Abra June 03 – A former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) died after she was shot to death by a still unidentified gunman while inside a canteen at barangay Talugtog, here, recently.
The victim was identified as Jennifer Manaois Belong, female, single, 35, owner of Janice Pancitan, former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), native of Lagayan, Abra and presently residing at Talogtog, Dolores, Abra.
According to the Dolores Police, the incident happened recently.
The incident was reported to the authorities by a staff of St. Theresa Wellness Center where the victim was rushed for medical treatment.
Based on the result of the initial police investigation, belong was with her daughters and were having snacks inside their establishment before the shooting. Three men entered the canteen and ordered three servings of noodles. After the noodles were served, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times then all the three fled to unknown direction on foot.
Belong was rushed by concerned citizen at to the St. Theresa Wellness Center located at Sitio Ducam, Barangay Mudiit, Dolores, Abra and further transferred at Abra Provincial Hospital (APH) for further treatment.
The victim sustained 4 gunshot wounds, one on her abdomen, two on her left leg, one on her right leg. At about 6:00 PM of the same date, the victim was declared dead by her attending physician.
Motive is yet to be determined as investigation still going on.
