BAGUIO CITY – Following an extensive investigation, operatives from the Baguio City Police Office-Police Station 7 rescued a missing female minor in Marilao, Bulacan, on July 27, 2024.
Reports submitted to PCol. Francisco B. Bulwayan, Jr., BCPO City Director, indicated the victim was reported missing on July 8 to the Itogon Municipal Police Station (MPS). Due to the urgency and the imminent threat to the child’s life, Itogon MPS referred the matter to BCPO for further assistance.
Investigations revealed that the victim, who had followed her mother to Baguio City, became lost and unable to find her way back. The suspect, a 29-year-old man, took the victim’s vulnerability, engaged her in conversation, and took her along with him from Harrison Road in Baguio City. They were last seen together at the Dau Terminal in Pampanga on the same day she went missing. Following a series of investigative efforts, the operatives successfully located the suspect on July 26, 2024, leading to the victim’s rescue in Marilao, Bulacan, the next day.
The suspect had been previously arrested for violation of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act, is not from Baguio and holds no permanent address.
