TABUK CITY, Kalinga- Personnel from the Philippine National Police-Tabuk (PNP-Tabuk) arrested two suspected criminals in two separate locations on May 25, 2020.
Apprehended for alleged frustrated murder is a certain Marcelino Wanson, of legal age, male, married, farmer, and a resident of Sitio Banneng, Barangay Calaccad, Tabuk City
According to the police report, they received a call evening of May 25 for a shooting incident at Barangay Callaccad, the report that the suspect went to the house of a certain Jocelyn Dalire of Sitio Banneng, in said barangay with intent to kill her.
Using the cover of night, Wanson waited for Dalire outside her window and when he got the chance, shot her with his homemade gun or “paltik” hitting her right arm then fled.
According to Dalire, prior to the shooting incident, the suspect had also threatened her with a knife before.
Dalire relates that the possible reason why Wanson has threatened her life was because she quarreled with his wife in the past.
The victim had been rushed to the hospital for treatment and medico legal while the suspect is now under the custody of the police and is awaiting proper charges to be filed against him.
The suspect was turned by personnel from the Tanudan Municipal Police Station (MPS) to the Tabuk CPS and members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) who responded to the call.
The second arrest happened at around 11:30 AM of same day at Magabbangon, Sitio San Isidro, Barangay Cudal, Tabuk City by the joint personnel from Tabuk CPS, led by Police Colonel Radino Belly, Provincial Intelligence Bureau/ Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PIB/KPPO), Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (RID-14), Regional Intelligence Division-Police Regional Office Cordillera (RID-PROCOR), and Station 6 Baguio City Police Office (BCPO).
Arrested in said incident is a certain Johnry Malicdan a.k.a. “Malidom”, of legal age, married, farmer, and a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Bulanao, Tabuk City.
Police reports that the suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for Robbery with Intimidation by Hon. Rufus Malecdan, Jr., presiding Judge, Regional trial Court (RTC), 1st judicial Region, branch 60, Baguio City, and his bail fixed at PhP 200,000.00.
Further, Malicdan had been listed as number 6 in the Top Most Wanted Person (MWP) of Station 6, Baguio City for the second quarter of 2020.
Malicdan is now under the custody of the Tabuk CPS for proper documentation before being turned over to the proper court of origin.
