TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Department of Trade and Industry-Kalinga (DTI-Kalinga) awarded a plaque of recognition to Tabuk City for ranking 11th place in the most improved city list of the 9th Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).
Tabuk leapt nineteen places to rank 60th out of 113 component cities in the CMCI in 2021, a significant improvement from its ranking of 79th place in 2020.
“This is another great milestone for the administration of Mayor Darwin Estrañero,” DTI-Kalinga Provincial Officer Renie Ramos said during the awarding of the plaque on July 4’s flag-raising ceremony.
Ramos expressed his confidence that with continuous improvements, Tabuk will break through the top ten in the coming years.
CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities managed by DTI through the Regional Competitiveness Committees.
The performance of component cities was measured using the four pillars of competitiveness: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, and resiliency wherein Tabuk ranked 72, 37, 99, and 59, respectively.
The top ten most competitive component cities in the CMCI are the following: Naga, Camarines Sur; Antipolo, Rizal; Tagum, Davao Del Norte; Dasmariñas, Cavite; Legazpi, Albay; San Fernando, Pampanga; Batangas, Batangas; Imus, Cavite; Biñan, Laguna; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro.
