TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Office of the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs (OCTCA) concluded its 2021 year-end contested activities last December 28, 2021.
The said office headed by the City Tourism Officer Ms. Arlene Ethel B. Odiem sponsored the Welcome Arch Design Competition and Video-making Promotional Contest with the subject “Balikan Ang Tabuk, Balikan Ang Pilipinas” in preparation for the tourism industry’s reopening.
Ms. Keith Tumaliuan, the top prize winner of Php 10,000 for the arch design competition, will have her arch design output be used by the city for the construction of welcome arches throughout the city’s boundaries.
For its one-and-a-half-minute video presentation displaying its high-standard amenities and best practices, Iloba Resort and Adventure Place took first place and won PhP10,000.
The welcome arch design finalists include: Keith Tumaliuan; Franz Dimalanta; Althea Butay; Jynyr Casiano; Jhoanna Marie Natividad; and Rolando K. Mongao;
While the finalists of the video-making contest include: Iloba Resort and Adventure Place; Tree Tops Eco-Adventure Resort; Pinagan Heritage Resort and Campsite; and Eco-Village AgriFarm;
All promotional videos shall be submitted to DOT-CAR for the Balikan ang Pilipinas website to help the operators of hotels, resorts, and eco-tour villages restart their businesses and to help tourism workers regain their jobs.
In connection with this, Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero will release a tourism executive order. Furthermore, he reminded tourists and stakeholders that minimum health and safety protocols such as wearing a mask, physical distancing, hand sanitizing, and booking or operating in DOT-accredited establishments, among others, must still be strictly followed to protect both tourists and tourism workers, as well as residents of host communities.
