TABUK CITY, Kalinga – In preparation for the upcoming Monitoring Evaluation of Local Level Plan of Implementation Protocol (MELLPI PRO) next year, the City Nutrition Council through the leadership of City Nutrition Action Officer and City Health Officer Dr. Henrietta Bagayao, conducted a Program Implementation Review on November 19, 2024 at Grand Zion Resort.
The review was focused on the council’s accomplishments based on its vision and mission, nutrition policies and laws, governance and organizational structure, Local Nutrition Committee functionality, nutrition service delivery, and changes in nutritional status.
The National Nutrition Council designed the MELLPI PRO as a tool to assess local level nutrition improvement initiative, intervention and its progress in reducing wasting, stunting, and overweight among children.
It also measures the quantity and quality of the performance of nutrition workers in terms of both quality and quantity of service delivery in the city.
It can be recalled that the city was recently awarded with Green Banner Seal of Compliance during the 2024 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on October 17.
This recognition was based on the city’s MELLPI total score of 86.14% in 2023, surpassing the minimum requirement of 85%. By Tabuk PIO
