TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Tabuk City received recognition for being a multi-awarded local government unit (LGU) during the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration today, September 4.
The Kalinga provincial government, led by Governor James Edduba, commended the City Government for demonstrating excellence in the implementation of government programs as evidenced by the many awards it received at the regional and national levels.
Under the leadership of Mayor Darwin Estrañero, various offices of the Tabuk City LGU won the following accolades in 2022 and 2023:
National awards: National Nominee, City Category for the 2022 Kaunlarang Pantao Awards for its commitment and initiative to empower Filipino families within the city through innovative and sustainable provision of Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning programs and services despite the challenges of the COVID-2019 pandemic. (Commission of Population and Development, June 23, 2022), Third Place, City Category-2022 Kaunlarang Pantao Award for its effort to effectively address the challenges of the COVID-2019 pandemic by generating and utilizing timely, comprehensive, and reliable population and development data and information (Commission on Population and Development, June 23, 2022), Best LGU Partner, Large Scale Category, 2022 Dry Season (PhilRice, Feb. 17, 2022), Bayanihan Service Award for its invaluable contributions and employment facilitation efforts in response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic (DOLE, Oct. 25, 2022), Grand Winner, Best Practices on Community-Based Responsible Tourism (Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines, October 27, 2022), Grand Winner, Best Tourism Event, Festival (Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines, October 27, 2022), Second Runner-Up, Best Tourism Event, Festival (Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines, October 27, 2022), Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence (NDRRMC, Dec. 2022).
