TABUK CITY, Kalinga – City government employees from the different departments attended a workshop on “Smart City Roadmap Formulation” for Tabuk City that was facilitated by DOST Region 2 office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Cordillera and Kalinga offices of the DOST, and Isabela State University recently.
As Tabuk city embarks on the road to making Tabuk a smart city, the roadmap formulation is one of the initial steps to provide a clear and comprehensive plan that sets direction for the development of Tabuk as a smart city.
Resource speakers Raquel Santos, DOST-Region 2 Smart City Focal Person, and Dr. Betchie Aguinaldo, Isabela State University Program Director of Business Intelligence and Research Development Center, discussed all the key elements of a smart city and extracted the participants’ cooperation in identifying Tabuk’s challenges and opportunities, as well as sharing their insights on how to prioritize and implement various initiatives.
The workshop was a significant step forward in the city’s journey towards becoming a smart city, and it is expected to have the end goal of making the city a more sustainable, efficient, and livable place for its residents. By Tabuk City PIO
