TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government through the Office of the City Agricultural Services Office is hosting two Taiwanese delegates of the International Four-H Youth Exchange Program who immersed themselves in the city’s agricultural scene and culture as they visit agricultural learning sites and agri-tourism farms as part of their seven-day exchange from Sept. 4 to 11.
Tsu-Yang Chien and Pei-ling Lai who are members of the National 4-H Club Association of Taiwan have so far visited the Ayuman Aggani Training and Assessment Center barangay Bulanao, Bacayan’s Rice-Based Integrated Farm and the Hybrid Seed Production barangay Ipil, and Juliet’s Farm and Nursery in barangay Lucog and delved into the local agricultural technologies while having insights into our unique cultural practices through their interactions with the community.
The International Four-H Youth Exchange Program aims to foster international cooperation, exchange knowledge in the field of agriculture, and promote strong linkage and partnerships between countries.
Aside from farm visits, they also had the opportunity to engage with local leaders during their courtesy call on the city mayor and provincial governor as well as with members of the city’s Volunteer Leader Association of the Philippines (VLAP) and 4-H federation officers. They are set to attend the 4H Regional Convention in Baguio on Sept.9.
