TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government, through the City Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (CCEDO), joins in the 13th edition of Global Money Week (GMW) campaign from March 17 to March 23 with this year’s theme “Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow.”
According to CCEDO Head Catherine Uera, the week-long celebration aims to educate everyone about financial literacy and management.
Furthermore, the yearly global awareness-raising campaign aims to guarantee that young people are financially conscious from an early age and develop skills, attitudes, and behaviors required to make sound financial decisions and, eventually, attain financial well-being.
During the flag-raising ceremony, the CCEDO launched the City’s GMW program by handing out piggy banks to those who participated in a short trivia quiz about the GMW.
As part of the program, comprehensive literacy sessions will be held at five selected schools: Agbannawag National High School, Balong National High School, Laya East Integrated School, Dilag Integrated School, and Saint Tonis Bulanao.
The seminars are organized in collaboration with three local cooperatives: Tabuk Multipurpose Cooperative (MPC), Treasure Link, and Tam-an MPC.
The CCEDO and its partners have already held financial management seminars for over 600 young learners throughout the city. By Ian Addatu
