TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Tabuk City Mayor Darwin C. Estran֮ero assured the commitment of the city government to sustain its assistance to the Philippine National Police (PNP) to ensure the achievement of law and order in the city to entice more investors to put up their businesses that will contribute in the overall efforts to recover from the heavy impact inflicted by the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Estran֮ero was the guest of honor and speaker during the Distinguished Visitor’s Program of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera held at the parade grounds here Monday morning.
He disclosed that since he assumed the city’s mayoralty post in 2019, the city government donated to the Tabuk City Police Office some 7 vehicles, including his own service vehicle, to improve the mobility of the city police force in their anti-criminality, anti-terrorism, anti-insurgency and peacekeeping initiatives that will make the city a better place to study, live, work and do business.
The Tabuk City local chief executive claimed that his administration will provide the Tabuk City Police Office with the 4 remaining committed patrol vehicles as part of the city’s commitment to improve the mobility, communication and other needed equipment of the PNP to enhance the law enforcers capacity to effectively and efficiently discharge their assigned duties and responsibilities to serve and protect the people.
According to him, law and order is a vital component of growth and progress of local government units and this could be achieved through the establishment of solid partnerships between the concerned government agencies, the local government and the community.
Mayor Estran֮ero pointed out that while Tabuk is being groomed as the future growth center of the Cordillera, the city government needs to help the PNP enhance the ongoing peacekeeping initiatives that will maintain the city’s decent law and order to entice more businesses to invest in the city to create more jobs and improve economic activities and sources of livelihood of the people.
Earlier, the Regional Development Council (RDC) in the Cordillera identified Tabuk City as the future regional growth center of the region with the initial establishment of the Eastern Kalinga Growth Center because of the availability of vast tracks of land that could be developed into industrial and economic zones and government center to spur the economic activities in the region.
Estran֮ero asserted that the city government envisions Tabuk to be the center of trade, commerce and education with the expected influx of investors wanting to partner with government agencies and the city to develop potential areas into industrial and economic zones that will contribute in the ongoing efforts to allow affected sectors to recover from the heavy impact inflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
