We are sad to inform the public that as of 12:30 pm today [June 10, 2020], we have our first confirmed imported case of COVID-19. The patient, tagged as K-01, is a 30 year-old displaced construction worker from Barangay Gobgob who arrived from Caloocan City on June 6, 2020 with his family.
When they arrived in Tabuk, they went through our health protocols, i.e., they were triaged and subjected to rapid testing at the City Holding Area at Agbannawag where K-01 was found to be asymptomatic and is IgG reactive. Thereafter, he was referred to the City Isolation Unit for swabbing and mandatory 14-day quarantine. The specimen was sent to Baguio last June 8, 2020 and yielded positive result.
Of the 24 passengers of Victory Liner Sweeper Bus No. 01, fourteen (14 ) are Tabukeños and 10 are from other municipalities. Patient K-01 together with his wife and his child were directed to proceed to the CIU because of the positive IgG result while the 11 tabukeño co-passengers were referred to their respective Barangay Isolation Units (BIU). All of the 11 co-passengers were already pulled out from their BIUs and transferred to CIU for monitoring, isolation and swabbing tomorrow.
As part of our contact tracing measures, all health workers and LGU personnel present at Talaca checkpoint and triage area during that day including drivers who ferried them are now under strict isolation and monitoring.
Coordination with the respective municipalities of other passengers have also been done.
Meanwhile, all Tabukeños are advised to stay at home and limit unnecessary travel outside your residences. Minimum public health standards to include wearing of mask, regular hand washing and social distancing must be strictly observed at all times. Please stay calm and remain vigilant.
Rest assured your City Health Office will do everything in its capacity to avert the spread of this disease.
