TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Residents and visitors can now enjoy convenience and better atmosphere when doing their marketing activities following the formal opening of the first phase of the modern public market aimed at providing people with better shopping experience.
Mayor Darwin C. Estran֮ero said that the opening of the first phase of the modern market will pave the way in providing people with a new perspective on comfortable and convenient marketing experience considering that the new market facility will serve as the city’s show window that will provide them with a lasting impression about the thriving component city.
The first phase of the modern public market is part of the comprehensive master plan of the city to develop its property in Bulanao, in partnership with XRC Mall Developers, to provide people with better market conditions that will entice them to patronize the use of the facility.
The modern features of the modern public market are essential infrastructures such as an independent sewerage treatment plant, materials recovery facility, fire detection alarm system, paging system, reliable cistern pump room for water supply, a generator set for 24/7 power, a closed circuit television (CCTV) monitoring system, individual sub-meters for wet stalls and round the clock security personnel.
Concerned sectors were impressed on the completion of the initial phase of the modern public market because it is clean, convenient and has a good ambiance for both market goers and the vendors who will be occupying the stalls that had been earmarked for their products, particularly those belonging to the wet section.
Mayor Estran֮ero pointed out that the developer should offer the least possible rental to the vendors to form part of the initial success of the planned modernized market facility as he understands the predicament of the developer to be able to recover its investment but the plight of the vendors for cheaper starting rentals should not be left out in the decision-making process.
However, many vendors have started processing their business permits with the local government which is a clear indication that there might be gains in the ongoing negotiations about the starting rental that will be collected by the developer from those interested to already occupy their allocated stalls to put an end to their long wait to occupy the initial phase of the modern market facility.
Many residents and visitors expressed their eagerness to do their marketing in the first phase of the modern Tabuk market as it is convenient, better and comfortable to do the same in an improved and cleaner market compared to the old facility that was demolished to pave the way for the construction of the new one.
The developer will now focus on the construction of the mall proper and the dry section of the public market after the stalls in the initial phase shall have been occupied by the interested vendors wanting to do business in the city.
The mayor added that the local government will also meet with the transport sector to allow them to unload and load their passengers right within the vicinity of the modern market or within the proposed central terminal to help boost the business activities in the said area in the future once the project has been fully completed.
