TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Tabuk City Police Station (TCPS) reported 136 vehicular traffic accident (VTA) cases in 2024 resulting to 18 fatal road accidents, 56 injuries, 47 property damage, and 15 self-accidents.
According to TCPS VTA data collected by the City Public Information Office (CPIO), 157 cases were reported in 2022, which decreased to 31.21% in 2023, with 138 cases documented over the same period.
The study found that human error was the main cause of road accidents in 2024, which happened in places like Nambaran, Ipil, Bulanao, San Juan, Agbannawag, Appas, Bantay, Bulo, Magsaysay, Lacnog, Naneng, and Calanan.
According to the survey, men make up the vast majority of traffic accident victims who sustain physical injuries, property loss, or even death.
Due to these figures in VTA-related cases, the TCPS urges motorists to constantly obey road safety laws in order to avoid accidents.
The CPIO obtained the three-year VTA report prepared by the TCPS as the basis for its ongoing communication research entitled “Road safety starts with you: Comprehensive Road Safety Education” aimed at promoting overall road safety, focusing on traffic laws, obeying speed limits, and sharing road responsibility.
