BAGUIO CITY – A 56-year old taxi driver lost his over P3,000 in earnings and other valuable items to two still unidentified individuals who reportedly robbed him in Bengao, Bakakeng Central here Thursday night.
Police identified the taxi holdup victim as Carlos Bucat, 56, and a resident of Rock Quarry, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the two suspects reportedly flagged down the victim’s taxi within the premises of the Pacdal circle and requested him to bring them to Bengao road.
While travelling along an unlighted portion of the Bengao road, one of the suspects who was seated at the back seat suddenly pulled out a caliber .45 pistol that was tacked on his waist, poked on the victim’s head and announced a holdup while the other suspect who was seated in front immediately divested him of his earnings amounting to P3,000, his mobile phone amounting to over P700 and his wallet containing important documents.
After getting from him all what they wanted, the suspects then jumped off the vehicle and immediately disappeared in the dark.
The victim immediately reported the matter to the police but responding police personnel failed to sight the suspects when they scoured the area right after the incident.
The taxi holdup incident is still undergoing followup investigation for the possible identification of the suspects as residents nearby were asked on whether or not they noticed such incident at that time.
