TABUK CITY, Kalinga – An 18-year old high school student died after he was stabbed on his left breast by a 17-year old individual in front of the rural health office at Dagupan Centro here Friday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent Victor Wanchakan, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Darwin Magannab Casinto, 18, single, high school student, and a resident of Magnao, Tabuk City, Kalinga while he named the suspect as Consonje Dario Sanchez, 17, single, and a resident of Magsaysay, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was talking with his friends when the suspect attempted to hit him with a stone but he was pacified by passersby promoting the victim to lease the area.
When the victim came back to the place, he attempted to attack the suspect but the latter stabbed him once on his left breast causing him to fall the ground.
The victim was rushed to a private hospital but expired while undergoing medical treatment while the suspect was subsequently arrested by responding police operatives and stands to face murder charges that will be filed against him before the Kalinga Provincial prosecutor’s office.
