A total of 25 Baguio City Police Office patrol drivers gladly received their Certificate of Competency on Service Under Chassis Components on August 27, 2021. The uniformed personnel underwent 5-day training in Driving Proficiency, Under Chassis Preventive Maintenance and Troubleshooting training at the Regional Training Center (RTC)-Baguio.
The 25 personnel were all qualified and were given free competency assessments. The training enhanced the participants’ skills and knowledge on the proper handling and maintenance of vehicles which is essential in having a well-conditioned automobile that can be used to respond to any situation and help in providing effective and efficient police service especially as patrol vehicle drivers.
In his message, TESDA CAR Regional Director Dante J. Navarro urged the police officers to take the free online courses on the TESDA Online Program on their free time which consists of more than 80 courses. He also informed them about the popular courses such as cooking and baking that can be availed by their families who can opt to start small business during this pandemic.
Along with Dir. Navarro are Mr. Noriel Ramos, Senior TESDS and Mr. Francis B. Martinez, trainer of Automotive Servicing NCII.
Also present during the ceremony were PCOL Glenn D. Lonogan, Acting City Director, BCPO and PCOL Myles Angle S. Pascual, Chief of RSTU-COR.

It will be recalled that this undertaking is in response to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) and Philippine National Police (PNP). In the said agreement, TESDA and PNP shall accept to carry out activities on education and training, trainers development, facilities and equipment sharing for training and assessment and competency assessment and certification.
The 25 PNP personnel had undergone assessment for the COC of Automotive Servicing on August 28, 2021 and Driving NCII on August 29-30, 2021. By TESDA
