BAGUIO CITY – The City Council, during last Monday’s regular session, congratulated and commended the Cordillera office Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA-CAR), the TESDA Baguio Regional Training Center and the Baguio City School of Arts and Trade (BCSAT) for winning prestigious awards and gaining honor in the 2022 National Awarding of TESDA Organization Excellence Awards (TOEA).
In a resolution, city legislators stated that the awards garnered by the said offices will attest to the competence of the awardees who not only have gained honor shared by the city but have contributed in upholding the prestige and stature of the city in their fields of endeavor which deserve to be recognized and commended.
In 2019, TESDA organized and implemented the TESDA Organizational Excellence Awards (TOEA) to recognize the accomplishments of regional and provincial offices as well as training institutions as embodied in the TESDA program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) based on performance, culture of innovativeness and excellence.
The organizational awards include Best Regional Office, Best Schools, Galing Probinsya Award and Best Training Institution.
During the 2022 national Awarding Ceremony at the TESDA central office held last August 31, 2022, TESDA-CAR was awarded as the first runner-up in the Best Regional Office category among the 5 small TESDA regional offices in the country; the Regional Training Center–Baguio was also adjudged as the winner for Best Specialized Regional Training Center while the BCSAT was recognized as the first runner-up for the Best TESDA Schools aside from garnering the ONE STAR or the system Technical-Vocational Education Training Accreditation and Recognition Award for its housekeeping NCII program.
