CAMP FLORENDO, San Fernando City, La Union September 22 – The Officer-in-Charge of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) Chief Superintendent Benjamin T. Hulipas, conferred the “Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting” and “Medalya ng Kagalingan” to the three (3) members of Binmaley police during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held on Monday (September 21) at Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) Grandstand.
Hulipas, pinned the “Medalya ng Kagalingan” to Police Chief Inspector Christopher F. Valerio and the “Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting” to Police Officer 2 (PO2) Reynaldo N. Domalanta and PO1 Jhordan M. Sarzaba in recognition of their painstaking effort and dedication to duty that resulted to the neutralization of an armed group leader during an encounter happened in Luna Street, Poblacion, Binmaley, Pangasinan on August 12, 2014.
The killed armed group leader was identified as Valiente F. Castro alias “Baldo”, 44 years old, married and resident of Binmaley town.
The police recovered from the suspect one (1) Colt caliber .45, one (1) Armscor caliber .45, one (1) UZI 9mm pistol, assorted ammunition and accessories, nine (9) heat sealed sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, Php117,730.00 and $200 US dollars.
Hulipas congratulated the awardees as he expressed appreciation for displaying their bravery in the performance of their duty. “May your awards serve as inspiration to level up your performance and be good example to your colleagues,” he added.
The awarding of said medal is in accordance with the provision of National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Memorandum Circular Number 93-018 as amended by Memorandum Circular Number 2006-003 in furtherance of Republic Act 6975.
