A total of Php 1,888,840.00 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated, and three drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-illegal operations conducted on June 14, 2023, region-wide.
Based on the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID PEREDO, JR., the arrested suspects were identified as Beljimar Nabus, 24; Erryl Diane Angway 27; and Jeffrey Dela Peña, 30.
In Brgy. Lourdes Proper, Baguio City, suspect Dela Peña was arrested by the joint anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 1 gram with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 6,800.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
In Brgy. Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet, a buy-bust operation launched by anti-illegal drugs operatives of Benguet PPO, resulted in the arrest of suspects Nabus and Angway after they sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 0.3 grams with an SDP of Php 2,040.00.
After the on-site inventories, the pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of their respective operating units for documentation and proper disposition, while charges for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspects.
Meanwhile, in Brgy. Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga, anti-illegal drugs operatives of Kalinga PPO, conducted a marijuana eradication operation that resulted in the discovery of a total of 9,400 fully pieces of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMP) with an SDP of Php 1,880, 000.00.
All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site while an investigation was ongoing to identify the possible cultivators. (PRO COR-PIO)
