TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Three infrastructure projects funded by the city government were completed in Barangay Naneng last year with a total appropriation of P650,000.00.
Among the projects completed is the concreting of the pathway which spans the rice fields between Barangay Naneng and Barangay Bagumbayan, the construction of canal lining in Sitio Banong which directs rainwater from the mountains away from houses, and the perimeter fencing in Naneng Elementary School.
Meanwhile, three more projects worth 1.7M pesos are ongoing including the construction of a pathway (P500,000) also in Sitio Banong which serves as a shorter route from the ricefields to the national road. Other ongoing projects are the construction of Barangay Health Station and Multi-purpose hall with an appropriation of P500,000 and P700,000 respectively.
During the Barangay Revisit, Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero stressed the significance of Barangay Naneng as a heritage and historic site in the city, as well as its potential to evolve into a progressive tourism destination. As a result, he asked people to carefully select their priority projects in order to meet the requirements of the community while preserving the tourist attractions.
