BAGUIO CITY – A 39-year old supervisor of the Texas Instruments (TI) died after he was shot to death by two still unidentified armed men while in front of his residence along Hamada Road, Lourdes Subdivision Extension, here, Tuesday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Roderick Austria Castor, 39, married, supervisor at Texas Instrument and a resident of Hamada Road, Lourdes Subdivision Extension, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was about to park his car in front of his residence when the two armed men suddenly appeared from nowhere and repeatedly fired at him several times while he was inside his car.
The victim was subjected to first aid treatment by responding emergency volunteers before being rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his head and body.
Responding police operatives were able to recover from the crime scene 23 spent shells of different types of firearms used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
The motive of the victim’s brutal murder has yet to be established as the suspects are now the subject of a manhunt.
